Retouche numérique des petits dessins des folioscopes utilisés dans la réalisation de la vidéo Hypothèque et Ruine.

Del montón de libritos que animé a bolígrafo en los años ochenta y noventa, escogí estos seis blocs, protagonizados por la mutante Hipoteca y su hija la Ruina, para realizar un nuevo vídeo. He tenido que separar las hojas para poder escanearlas una a una, a una resolución alta debido a que los dibujos originales tenían entre 3 y 6 centímetros de altura, y después he retocado los dibujos y los he coloreado con Photoshop. La música la compuse por medio del portal JamStudio.com.

Mortgage & Ruin

In the eighties and nineties I animated with a ballpoint pen lots of flip books, and I have chosen six of them to make this video. The original drawings were between three and six centimeters high, so I had to scan them in high resolution and then I retouched them digitally. I composed the music with Jamstudio‘s online sound mixer.

Dans les années quatre-vingt et quatre-vingt-dix j’ai animé au stylo-bille beaucoup de folioscopes ou flip books, dont j’ai choisi six pour faire cette vidéo. J’ai dû scanner les dessins à haute résolution car ils avaient entre trois et six centimètres de haut, puis je les ai retouchés à l’ordinateur. Quant à la musique, je l’ai composée au moyen du site Internet Jamstudio.com.

Desde que era pequeñito, siempre tuve pasión por los dibujos animados. Aprendí a animar dibujando las distintas fases del movimiento en las esquinas de las hojas de los blocs, y así llegué a crear decenas de libritos mágicos. He trabajado como animador, como intercalador y como dibujante de fondos. Realicé el tráiler de la película El monstruo devastador en el taller de cine de animación de la ADAC, del Ayuntamiento de París, gracias a la inestimable ayuda del profesor Vu Hoa, entre 1999 y 2002. Los dibujos los hice a mano y los coloreé con lápices y rotuladores. En 2008 por fin pude grabarlos en vídeo tras escanearlos. La banda sonora es un fragmento de la obra End of a dream, incluida en el disco From Heaven de NovenaVoz. The devastating monster

Since I was a child, I have always had a passion for animated cartoons. I learnt to animate by drawing the different phases of motion on notepad pages, and so I made lots of flip books. I have worked as an animator, as an in-betweener and as a background designer. I animated the trailer for the film The devastating monster at the Paris Council Adac animation workshop between 1999 and 2002, thanks to professor Vu Hoa’s inestimable help. I made the drawings by hand and colored them with pencils and markers, but I had to wait until 2008 to scan them and to make the video. The soundtrack is an extract from the work “End of a dream”, included in the album From Heaven, composed by NovenaVoz. The composer’s website is http://www.novenavoz.com/.

Le monstre dévastateur

Depuis que j’étais petit, j’ai toujours été passionné de dessin animé. J’ai appris à animer tout en dessinant les phases successives du mouvement sur les coins des feuillets des blocs-notes, et c’est comme ça que j’ai fait des tas de livres magiques ou flips. J’ai travaillé dans ce domaine comme animateur, comme intervalliste et comme décorateur. Enfin, j’ai réalisé la bande-annonce du film Le monstre dévastateur dans l’atelier de film d’animation de l’Adac, de la Mairie de Paris, de 1999 à 2002, grâce à l’inestimable aide du professeur Vu Hoa. J’ai colorié les dessins avec des crayons de couleurs et des marqueurs, mais il a fallu attendre jusqu’en 2008 pour les scanner et les enregistrer. La bande son est un extrait de l’oeuvre End of a dream, de NovenaVoz.
